Support for UkraineApprentice Lucy Jenkins wins New Care Worker of the Year award
We are very proud to share a fantastic achievement by one of our apprentices, Lucy Jenkins, who has won the New Care Worker of the Year award at the 2021 Proud to Care awards.
The Proud to Care awards are organised by the Bournemouth Echo in association with BCP Council. Every year, hundreds of nominations are received to celebrate the fantastic work by those in the industry across the county in all kinds of roles, including home carers, young carers, volunteers and apprentices.
As the Covid-19 pandemic continues and there is high pressure on carers across the country, it’s an important time to highlight and celebrate achievements. All nominees for this year’s awards have contributed brilliant work in caring for Dorset and we thank everyone for their efforts.
Lucy Jenkins was nominated and shortlisted for the New Care Worker of the Year award. She started a Business Administration apprenticeship with Tricuro in November 2020 and has been working closely with us as the apprenticeship training provider. Throughout the apprenticeship, Lucy has worked hard to gain new skills in many different areas, including processes, communication skills and confidence building. She recently achieved her English Level 2 Functional Skills and is currently working towards Maths Level 2 Functional Skills.
Apprentice Assessor, Alison Humphrey, said… “Lucy has worked hard throughout her apprenticeship and has had to constantly adapt to changes with Covid regulations and restrictions at work. This meant that her job role had to change during the lockdown periods, but she adapted well and gained valuable experience. Lucy is always happy to help anyone and always strives to do her best. She has really developed within her role and is considered one of the team. Lucy is now coming to the end of her apprenticeship journey and is hoping to gain a permanent position at Tricuro, upon completion.”
We are very proud of Lucy, not just for her award, but her constant hard work and dedication to her role. She is now continuing the apprenticeship and focusing on preparation for the end point assessment.
