We have a range of bespoke ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) provision for refugees of the Ukrainian humanitarian crisis available across Dorset in daytimes and evenings. We offer friendly classes for students to meet others and practise speaking English. These include courses leading to qualifications in English. Alongside our educational opportunities, we also have a range of financial and learning support to ensure everyone can make the most of their experience with us.

All Ukrainian adults and their family members supported through the Ukraine Family Scheme and Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme are immediately eligible for further education (FE) 19+ funding to support the costs of learning and are exempt from the 3-year residency requirement.

For adults who already have good English language skills, we have a range of other vocational, employment and qualification courses that can be applied for, subject to meeting entry requirements. Explore our other courses and services here.

How to enrol:

1. Book an admissions session

An admissions session is a chance for us to meet your guests to ensure they enrol on the best suited course for them. They take place either through a phone call, or in person in one of our centres across Dorset. As the host, you can be present with the learner if they wish.

At the session, we will assess their current English level and ask about any other qualifications. We will also ask about their ambitions and any other education they feel they could benefit from in order to signpost them to other information or courses.

2. Enrol on a course

After the admissions session, our team will offer the learner a place on a course best suited to their ability and preferences such as location and days/times. At this stage, it is also possible to apply for financial or learner support. Click the links below to find out more and how to apply.
