What the course is about

Many people have a tradition about Christmas wreaths – why not create your own completely unique handmade wreath which will last many generations.  



Just imagine how amazing it will look on your door!  



Learn how to prime ceramics, draft designs and hand paint beautiful winter foliage and Christmas scenes onto ceramic decorations under the expert help of a friendly, qualified art teacher. 



All our courses are made up of elements of speaking & listening, reading and writing, and you will work using these elements throughout the course. 



Some of the skills you gain on this course could help increase your opportunities for employment or working within the community.  Learning takes place in a friendly classroom setting, which is a great place for social interaction and helping you meet new people.

Assessment of progress, tests, exams

There is no qualification or examination attached to this course. 

Who the course is for / Previous experience, knowledge or qualifications

This is a Beginners course - you will be expected to have no experience in the subject or very basic knowledge of the subject. 

Materials and costs

You will need a notebook, pen and A4 folder.  



The price of the course includes all materials, glazes, tools and firings to make one pre-sized wreath. 



You are advised to wear old clothes or an overall to protect your clothes.  Long hair should be tied back and no open toed shoes to be worn.

Home study: you will be required to do significant study at home between sessions to assist with your learning and progress.

Proof of identity: please bring photographic ID and your National Insurance number with you to your first session. You will also need to provide it for any external examinations you take.

Off-site activities: with some courses, there may be the opportunity for off-site enrichment activities at additional cost, for example: gallery, museum or exhibition visits. Where this is an integral part of the course, your tutor will discuss the arrangements with you during your induction.
