Flower Arranging

During this course you will receive both group and individual support in order to help you learn more about making flower arrangements.  

This course aims to introduce you to some basic floristry techniques that are required to create these designs.  After learning these floristry skills, you will be able to build and develop more advanced floral designs which you can then share with and impress your family and friends. 

All our courses are made up of elements of speaking & listening, reading and writing, and you will work using these elements throughout the course. 

Learning takes place in a friendly classroom setting, which is a great place for social interaction and helping you meet new people. 

Practice at home is advisable to enhance your learning experience. 

There are no Pre-course admission sessions or interviews in order to enrol on this course.

There is no qualification or examination attached to this course.

This is a Beginners course, and you will be expected to have no experience in the subject or very basic knowledge of the subject, including some memory of the subject from school.

You will need a suitable container or bag to carry your arrangement home each week. 

All other materials and equipment will be provided for you to make and take home beautiful flower arrangements.  

If you have any accessories that you would like to include in the design or suitable foliage, please bring them along. 

Tools will be available to use during the workshop, but if you have your own and wish to use them, please bring them along (clearly labelled). This is at your own risk.

You should not wear open toed shoes in the classroom, for your own safety.You may wear an apron to protect your clothing. If you suffer from known allergies to flowers or foliage, we advise you to bring protective gloves.

Attendance: before enrolling you should ensure that you can attend all classes offered as far as possible.

Places on courses: many of our courses are in high demand. If you have been offered a place but no longer require it, please advise us immediately as you may be preventing another learner from taking the place. Where learners do not attend the first session, without having given prior notice, Skills & Learning reserve the right to offer the place on the course to another learner; you will not be eligible for a refund it it is outside of the terms outlined in our cancellation policy.

Fully funded learners: if you have been offered a fully funded place on a course and no longer require it, you must advise us before the course starts so that your place can be offered to someone else. We reserve the right to withdraw future offers of fully funded places if you regularly do not start or complete funded courses.

Home study: you will be required to do significant study at home between sessions to assist with your learning and progress.

Proof of identity: please bring photographic ID and your National Insurance number with you to your first session. You will also need to provide it for any external examinations you take.

Off-site activities: with some courses, there may be the opportunity for off-site enrichment activities at additional cost, for example: gallery, museum or exhibition visits. Where this is an integral part of the course, your tutor will discuss the arrangements with you during your induction.
